Fire Retardant – All fire retardant bins have been tested to the relevant UK Government technical memo standards for fire retardancy and non-flammability at the leading test house, Warrington Fire, to the standards required by the UK Government’s Health Technical Memorandum 05-03 Part A. (2008) Fire Safety in the NHS - Section 3.12 Healthcare Premises - General Fire precautions section 3.12
Anti Microbial Coating - Developed, in conjunction leading industry experts, an antimicrobial coating offering a total surface hygiene system that is safe and long lasting. The silver ion based protection agent is added to the powder coating during manufacture and contains no active chemical agents. Silver, which has been recognized as having antibacterial properties for centuries, inhibits the growth of many bacteria and microorganisms (such as MRSA), meaning that they cannot live and breed on protected surfaces. As a biocide, the silver based ions will last the lifetime of the product and will continue to interrupt a cell’s ability to function, grow or reproduce. Of course, such coatings should always be used in conjunction with industry standard hygiene and cleaning practices to further reduce any risk of cross contamination.
Colour Coding – Any combination of colours can be supplied thus allowing branding or more importantly, proper waste segregation (for example in the UK National Health Service under HTM07-01).
